My name is Daniel, but you can call me Dan. I am a Norwegian citizen living in Oslo. I have an older sister and divorced parents as well as close ties to the United Kingdom. I travel to the South of England annually, and would like to eventually visit Japan and Australia in particular.
I am one of 2036 Norwegians to have Wang as a surname, although I am not of Chinese descent. I was originally raised by my parents to become a Jehovah's Witness but have since renounced religion and theism completely. I define myself as both an atheist and an agnostic. I am to the left politically and I refuse military service. I do enjoy virtual violence thoroughly.
I am an absolutely unabashed geek who is passionately interested in languages (especially ancient/oriental/constructed), computers, and oriental board games (such as Shogi, for which I maintain the following community:![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif)
japanesechess). I like 70s/80s hard rock and metal as well as classical music. I am a pianist and guitarist.
Few things on this earth entertain me more than The Simpsons (the early seasons!) and Monty Python, and my sense of humour can be a tad morbid and twisted. My favourite movies are the Hitchcock classic Vertigo and Trainspotting. I am not particularly offended by language and I dislike taboos and censorship a great deal. If you've read this far and you still find me remotely interesting, you might even wish to add me. Feel free to do so, I am likely to add you back, especially if we have some interests (at least one!) in common.
